In details, the issue described by the users is that Edge crashes at the moment is opened, getting closed almost right away. Also, they have commented that the Cortana bar does not work either, since it does make searches or respond to any voice commands what so ever. In the community there are a few threads to solve this problem.

First, the recommendations are to disable the third-party antivirus software in case it is installed. Sometimes, Cortana and Edge are locked due to this type of solution for malware. So, in the case the problem disappear after disabling the antivirus it must be uninstalled.

In the same way, the problem can be caused by a Windows update. If this is the case, the method to follow has the next steps: press the Windows Key + X at the same time, and when the Command Prompt type the next command “PowerShell –ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted.

Like this, the PowerShell platform will open and you have to enter the command “Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like “*SystemApps*”} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}” and then hit on Enter. Reset the computer and the problem should be solved.
